Expat salary

The salary, the tag that one is an expat are all alluring and these expats are envied back home as some people having a good life.

They might think that life as expat is all about the lazing around the swiming pool in Oakwood! We do that, but sometimes and always with hundreds of things cluttering our brains.

Life as an expat is not easy. Since money is given, one is loaded with work and even on saturdays I fine myself in office.

You arent mostly welcome by the local collegues. They think that one has suddenly come at a high salary and not earning it well enough. So they arent friendly towards me and alsways trying to find fault.

They fact that one of they them could be given my job but was not given never occurs to them. They never wonder why is that the company had to get someone from abroad. They also dont realise that comeing from aanother country to work in their eenvironment takes lot of adjustment and effort and a friendly atomosphere helps.

I love the change as it energises us to comeout of the comfort zone and gives us a chance to surprise ourselve with the innate ability we have hidden to our self.

Im in love with the Flea market that happens every saturday in the park in Salcedo Village. I just love the smell of fresh vegable and that of the plople from many corners of the globe.

Shenna has fallen in love with Starbucks and Im quite amused by this fact that our four year old Shenna loves to chill with a milkshake (he calls it coffee!) in the starbucks, be it in Greenbelt or Salcedo village.

Dona is manageing the show on home front as I hardly get time foor anything at home and all I think nowadays is work.

She wants to go to Hongkong, dont know if it will happen. Or we will try to somewhere nearby.

Life without any past

Life without any past is what seems to be true to modernday Philippines. The long spanish and american occupation has left behind a country with hardly any heritage of it's own. The lifestyle is distinctly American. Sadly, the postives that make America the sole Super power of the world is lacking in Philippines.

I attended a philipino marriage. The girl was more than six month pregnant. Yet, after the marriage they were asked to kiss and once done, it was announced that the first kiss between the couple just happened.

The chocolates for the premarriage shower for her were shaped like penis with balls. Heard that the premarriage party for a girl will have a dick shaped cake and she will be asked to lick it which she would do delightedly!

If one wants a life, very slow spaced and without much expections out of any serrvice provided, Philipines is the place for him. The world parallel processing dooesnt exist in the Philipino dictionary.

The showmanship is allmost like a art here and their penchant for partying in style is only matcched by their utter overtly friendship to stangers. Thats whhy tey would do well in entertainment, sales and media but I doubt if there would ever be a scientist or technocrat from this island country.

The girls here are admirably shapely and very well endowed. They being very emotional, its not advisable to play around with them without there being any serious intentions of a long term relationship. They find it very difficult to keep anything inside them and all details of everything is shared with anyone who would lend a ear to them.

Also had the first Halloween party here last friday. Our son, in superman dress looked different and he enjoyed the party. Too bad that all public funtions are conducted in Tagalog and us foreigners missed out a lot of fun because of that.

Went to Tagaytay last saturday. Saw the dormant volcano, Taal from a distance. Its in the middle of the bay and looks awesome. Nexttime, we resolved that we would take a boat and see the volcano from as near as possible.
