Must change

Prinx was nostalgic and was shareing her life in college. Unfortunately, as always happened, she came to a point where she said that nothing was same after marriage. I knew she meant life has detorierated after marriage. At that point, Shenna called me inside and without saying a work, like a monster, I rose to go. She must have been shocked and bitterly commented that. This is how relations are broken’. I nonetheless, went inside and Shenna started to play. HE is just four and love to jump around, over me. He was doing that. Im afraid, that he might hurt himself and at some point, asked him to stop doing that. He first said, he will not sleep with me and will go to mama. I requested him not to do that few times and then said, ‘ okey, go’. Heartless me. He loves me dearly, so went and I knew he would be back. Surely he came back after sometimes. During that time, I was feeling miserable and regrettably thought of the fucked up life I was leading before prix and he arrived in my life. He came back surely and mumbled before going to sleep, ‘ you don’t love me, you always rebuke me, you have asked mama not to buy me toys and chocolates, I will not stay with you.’ I was shocked to realize how I had made my little boy unhappy and how stressed he must be. I regretted that I have casued so much pain and sadness to our son and his mother. I know the horrible growing up years I had is the reason the way Im but I must try to change for the better. I have to be happy with myself to make them happy. I have to stop worrying about future and start living in the present. The crux of the problem is money and it is because I being unsure of future, try my best to creat a egg next. However, Prinx wants to live for today and rightly so. Here lies the conflict and the resultant bitterness on both sides. I got to change, I got to change, I got to change. If only I knew, how to make sure that that happens!

RNA Heights, JVLR, Mumbai, India

we bought our first flat in Dec, 05 and moved there in Feb, 06. Mumbai property marrket has allready boomed by that time and we got it paying a very high price and the mortgage was a enormous burden.

Soon, however we moved. Got an expat offer in Manila and saw a chance to pay it quickly. We rented out the flat to a Bengali family.

We wonder if the price has appreciated.

This is the only home we have in this whole earth and this is where we want to go back at the end of the stint in Manila. Prix has plans to remodel the flat to make it cosy and nice. Sometimes, though we hope that we get to live in USA or Uk for some more time before we head back to India.

Life is glorious in it's uncertainty.

Sinful night in Manila

Asia Arabia is how the night club is known. One indonesian (Kelid), two philipino (Tan & Fito) and two indians (Akash & Girish) decided to spend a evening there. One of the manager of the club is friends to the philipinnos and hence its like a known place.

On the stage, to the tune of music, two girls, may be in their early 20s, were making very very suggestive moves. As the music moved on, so did their cloths.

On the side, there was a room full of girls. They went to to the window and observed them. They could and they did choose a girl each who would be their companion for the next two hours.

Akash liked the girls to be well endowed and choose a girl called AK. She came and hugged him. His hand travelled to his back and she was not wearing anything. On being aksed, she smiled and said' Im always ready'.

She turned out to be a perfect bitch. She was focussed on customer delight and engaged in all sort of titillations from the moment we entered the room. Later, she talked to her Mama (yes, madam is called Mama by the girls) and she asked Akash if I woudl take her to a room. Inspite of all the desire to take her to privacy, Akash declined.

The other Indian was equally furitfully busy.

The indonesian liked to sign and got himself busy with the girl to have a Kakorke session. She was beautiful and she was wasted. She went out for a smoke later, not to come back again.

The phillipinons appeared utterly bored, may be from the excess and kept themselfves bust talking to their firend.

That was an evening in Manila.

Merry X'mas

I never thought I would colour my hair ever. Yet, now in Manila, there was a party with Rockster as theme and I found myself dressed in jeans and Tshirt with Beatle's like hair and colour, albeit, temeporary, spashed on my hair. I found myself looking like someone from Bollywood!

Also had a party, were our department was to represent Brazil and I became a footboller. I did some, okey juggleing of the ball on stage and enjoyed all the preparetion beore hand.

For a Bengali boy, born in Baruipur, 24 paraganas( S), West Bengal, India, this is a long journey from my growing up years.

Shenna too had so many parties and received quite a few gifts n his school. Its really magical time in Manila around this time of the year in Manila.

Now a days, everyday, I call in the noon when Prix sleeps but Shenna picks up the phone and we talk for few minutes. Prinx tells me that he become sad after talking to me as soon as I discoonect.

The other day, I called a friend of mine in Mumbai after a long time and they couldnt believe that we were calling from this far. So I said, ' yes, we arent in India, we are calling from Manila'. With a angel like smile, Shenna came near me and wanted to talk mon phone. I gave him the phone and he just said' hello, we are in india now'. Thereafter, my friend wouldnt accept that we werent in mumbai and asked us not to bluff and visit him in his house. Little mischivous boy, Sheena is.

I havent taken any leave this time and hoping to see around Manila in the coming days.

Prinx, mother of my son

One day in Mumbai, I was driving our Maruti Zen in Mumbai when saw a honda pass by. I wistfully said wish we had a honda and Prinx said, dont worry, one day you will have a Honda.

I just laughed as I didnt believe that happening in near or even in distant future.

But she was right.

Today I drive a Honda Civic, in Manila.

Got and accepted this expat offer and was given this car.

Her prediction indeed came true!

Before, once we have gone to see off then our good friend Sourav in the international airport. I was feeling bad that I had never gone out of India till then and ddidnt see that happening.

Prinx said, ddont worry, you too would fly from here.

That was in 2002.

Thngs changed. I started travelling abroad in 2003. Just got my additional booklet here in Manila. So many trips happened.

Her that prediction also came true.

Now we live in Manila.

Reality

Shenna, our four year old son goes to ISM, Manila. It was requested from the school that each of the student make a giift to one or more underprivilaged kids.

He was to give his gift to a three year old. Dona was explaining to him why he needed to give a gift to the underprivilaged kid and described their plight.

At the end, Shenna looked teary eyed to Dona and told' Mama, hope that never happens to me'.

I cried in my heart when I heard this.

We bring our children to the world not really knowing fully well wwhat we are bring them into. We have children before even realising the implication of it.

I feel sad.

Subic City, Philippines

We went to Subic city this Saturday to have a look at the Ocean adventure. We had our doubts if we would be able to go as there was a typhoon alert but fortunately it didn’t hit Manila and we went ahead with our plan to watch the Donphines there.

It was worth going there. The entrance fee to the Ocean Adventure was stiff but it was beautiful. The place was easily one of the best I have seen in my life. It reminded me the lake in Zurich which was so far the most beautiful place I had seen so far.

The bay was on the bank of mountains and the water was crystal clear. The whales and the dolphins were well trained and was a treat to watch them perform in the show. The show by sea lion was even more enjoyable for the shear perfection to which it was trained.

There were a small bird sacturary which was nice but there were only few birds. The sea aquarium was a delight to the eyes and senses in general. We couldn’t but wonder who had created such colourful life in the depth of ocean and for what purpose. The number of creatures and their variety are something to marvel about.

I was sad though seeing these animals do to the bidding of their human masters to entertain human beings when their life was meant to be spent in natural surrounding with their fellow creatures.

Sheena was very excited though out the day and we came back to our place in Salcedo Village in the evening, dog tired.

We saw something today that we will remember for a long long time. Philippines is probably one of the most beautiful place on earth. Its sad that tourism is not that well promoted and the country is so poor.
