Have taken a decision which can potentially change our life, well after a decade.
Been dabling in share market since 2003 when Sensex was in the region of 3000. Had an short term perspectively and was happy all along baking few thousands here and there and we would have nice dinners wuite often those day. To be honest, nothing much used to happen to the market those days and market would go up by 200-300 points now and then, only to come down soon.
Now, it started going up and I was so sure that it would come down anyday.
Today, 28th March, 2007, Sensex is at 12922. All the shares I bought and sold, are worth a lot today. If I had the right perspective and held on to these shares, we would be quite richh today, atleast could have a holidays abroad every year from now on. But I have allready sold those shares. Stuck with those shares, which I bought reading fraudulent reports from ICICIdirect for short term gains which had crashed to half their price.
Well, one learns.
Warren Buffet learnt and used it to become very rich.
We too can become rich, one day within couple of decades, atleast. Can atleast holiday in Bahamas then and Shenna can easily have couple of kids of his own, without having to worry about how to finance their education. We do pray for it.
Its going to be a painful journey, very slow.
Have started buying absolute blue chip compnaies like Infosys, IDFC, ITC, NTPC, IDBI, TCS. Will buy these and forget these unless come to known something very bad about the management of these excellent companies. They are no multibaggers but they will surely grow, slow but steady at a faster rate than a normal debt instrument.
Over the next three years, hoping everything goes allright with God's grace, would like to invest around Rs. 10 lakh in shares with a 10-20 year perspective. These are for Shenna.
Will ask him to do the same thing when he becomes 18 year old.

One of my extremely important travel document was sent from Manila to Portsunlight in UL on wednesday evening through FedEx and we were promised that it would reach on friday evening definitely. Like a fool, I believed this promise from Fed Ex to my own peril. It contained my travel documents for my travel back from UK to Manila. I started following it up from UK around 11pm and Dona was following it up from Manila from 5am in the morning. We realised their site wasnot updated for atleast 12hours, whats te point then of having a online tracking mechanism? My calls from UK was routed to their call center in Montrel and first time they told me that the site isnt updated and Europe is sleeping and nonthing, nothing can be done at all, even though I pleaded that it was extemely urgent. I called back and another person picked up the phone. He gave the same response and when I persisted, he kept me waiting in the line for 5mins and came back and said that it would be delivered and someone from UK would call me in next couple of hours. I patiently waited till 2am in the moring and called back. Some Jesica now told me I was wasting my time and nothing can be done, they arent in UK and no one in UK from Fed ex works in thee night. She had such a negetive attitude that I kept the phone down and called back with the hope that someone nicer would be on line. But obviously they talk with eachother and I got Mary next who told me that he supervisor would call me back. It never came.
Because of it, I couldnt fly next day. Came back and called the Fedex number at 9am. Got UK call centre, they said the parcel wwas with their agent in Roucon and it will be delivered on Monday as their wouldnt any deliver during the week. So I could suck my thum sitting in UK for two days waiting for my parcel to come so that I could fly.
I requested if I could come and pick it up. The cab driver realised I was in a desparate situation and made some good money out of me. I went and collected te parcel at 11.30am from Roucon and changed my tickets so that I could fly out of UK on Sunday.
FedEx really sucked, big time. They proved that they cannt keep promises inspite of their all the big claims. I have never interacted with a lousier call centre that the one they have in Montreal.

KML, very sad airlines
I had a horrendous experience with KLM. It wasnt my first choice when I was flying to UK but I guess they offer higher margins to the agents to push their sad airlines and thats how I got to fly KLM, first time in my life and the extremely bad experience will last for quite sometimes to come.
I flew from Manila to Leeds and the journey was worth remebering nothing except for the bad, tasteless, dull food. I wanted some extra nuts, even that they couldnt give.
I was to fly back from Manchester to Manila on a last sunday morning. There were three counters and only one arrogant person maning one of the counter. Hence, inspite of being a business class traveller, I was made to wait in the line foe quite sometimes. She didnt inform that I couldnt have two hand baggagess, hence went to the security check, waited in the line and was sent back. Again stood in the line for sometime and went back to a longer line for security check.
She hadnt asked me about my seat preference and found that I got a middle seat which I hate, specially for a 14hr journey. So much for giving customers choices. The food was again so bad that inspite of being huungry, couldnt eat much except the bread and butter.
Movie selection left much to be desired.
There was no magazines in the flight.
I came back to Manila after 14 hrs of flight, waited for couple of hours to get my baggages and found it to be missing. Waited for couple of more hours to lodge a compliant. There was no KLM staff around and I was offered a insultingly low amount as a compensation for misplacing my luggage. Inspite of being promised that it would reach today, Im yet to get it.
My respect for Holland as a country has come down because of KLM.
