Life moves on

Since we came back from Boracay and enjoyed the Saraswati Puja, we went through some tough time for a month or so.

Dona had chiken pox when I was travelling to Bagio and had to rush back immidiately. Did some internet searches and the findings were scary.

We asked our maid to stay for the whole day and fortunately she agreed. It was another matter that she stayed in our place, mostly to sleep.

Shenna developed aversion to the mashed potato, the way she used to give it her and I had to keep some food for him so that onece he would come back from school, he wouldnt go hungry.

It was very tiring managing everything and I realised the load Dona used to bear.

Offcourse, we, father and son survived on FKC food, for quite often we had dinner there.

In difficult times, one realises worth of friends.

Our friends used to send food for us and there were days when we got food from two families and we used to grateful and overwhelmed.

I was scared and prayed very hard. Meditated a bit.

Dona got cured and resumed normal life few weeks back now. She is worried about te scars left and hope they go away soon.

We now look forward to our annual holidays in mid June. We will spend 5days in Singapore, 8-9days in Mumbai and then go to Kolkata. I will lead a bachelors life in Manila for a month when the mother-son duo will spent a month in Calcutta and not looking forward to this atall.

Got promoted so tat can concentrate on work next few years again.

Shenna is growing up and bossing us around a lot. For whatever reason, he doesnt want to study though he is quite curious and picks up things easily. But he doesnt like reading and writing. Its parenting blue on how to motivate to learn to read and write.

Will pray and meditate.

Saraswati Puja-Manila

The Saraswati Puja was celebrated on 14th April, here in Manila by our Bengali community where 26 Bengali families, including off course us, were deeply involved.

Yes, there is this extremely vibrant Bengali community in Manila. We have gone to few get together and being there, not for once, one would feel that we arent in Kolkata. Bengali songs are sung, only language that is spoken is Bengali. And all the typical Bengali food is celebrated with the usual Bengali gusto.

The Puja was an elaborate affair. The planning started few weeks back and all the rituals were followed with religious zeal.

The goodess was emmersed in Manila bay.

It was such an excellent experience to be part of this occasion. We wish these are the experience that will help Shenna to grow into a fine human being.
