Just watched one of the touching and unnerving movies I have ever seen- its inconvenient truth by Al Gore. Its on the impact and havoc we are creating on environment and the kind of price we have started to pay for it and worse, the implication of our random deeds for future.
Its a must see movie for annyone who hope for a decent future for his/her kids atleast.
We must reduce our rampnat consumptions and must weight each of our deeds against its impact on the enviroment before committing to anything.
This is also one of the rare case where we do good to ourselve and get monetary benefits out of it.
Most of the hotels around the globe got a green agenda primarily because it results in huge benefits for them but in the process it does good to all of us since it does good to the environment.
Each one of us can make a difference and we will be fooling ourselves and jeopardising our future if we thought that protecting the nature is the onus of goverment. a wise person will not leave anything critical for government to deliver.
Do we leave education of our children to government? As parent, we do everything to teach our children so that they would be fit to survive and excel in the world.
Save nature, think and weigh each of your deeds and reduce carbon load from your lives.
I have decided to reduce carbon load we generate in our family and will share soon some of the things we are implementing in our lives to achieve it.
1. Use public transport. Indulge in car pulling. Dont call that cab when we can walk down. It saves money, improves health, reduce carbon load.
2. Reuse everything that can be reused. Use printout for rough paper work. Take printout on both sides of the paper. Reuse water bottle.
3. Have a cloth bag to bring grocery from the mall. Refuse to take the plastic bags. Sip from the glass and dont use the straw.
4. Plant trees. Stop burning waste. Abstain from usage of fire crackers.
These are small things that can easily be practised. Start practicing. Keep thinking. Keep sharing.
Story of my life
Sometimes, I introspect about the life I have lived so far, the events that I have witnessed, the experiences which has made me what Im today. The singluar feeling in such time I have is one of gratitude to God for blessing me with a life which is good, which could otherwise turn horribly worng. Ture, I had horrible teenage years when I used to live with by scheming uncle and aunty, yet somehow all turned out well.
The experince of my toddle years I carry is one of being loved by my mother, grand ma and baba.
Mother used to cook in the evening and I would play with some of the atta dough she would give me. We didnt have electricity those days and I would bake the small chapatis I would make on top of the lamp. Today, sometimes Shenna plays with the atta dough given to him by his mama and I realise some of our traditions are proably eternal in nature.
Since we used to live in a semiurban place, we used a to know lot of poeple stayiong in the same place for years. Thus, I had lot of friends who would come and call me to play all through out the day. I would invariably come late after a game of football or marble and my mother would refuse to open the door. I would then proomise that I would be late ever again and then show would allow me inside. I would then wash my hand and leg, eat somethhing and then she would seat with me to teach me. Soon, I will be over powered by the urge to sleep and thus my day would end. Offocurse, I would come late again few days later and same story would be repeated.
She was a simple women who was blessed with average looks. Story goes that my father was very unhappy to marrry him. He married her since her father convinced his father on this marriage. I will offf course grow up and decide not to be forced into marriage with someone I dont like but that would be much later.
She was though everything a mother could be. Careing, dotting, strictm regimented, routine and stickler for deciplline. My father used to work in city and visit us once a week. I had a elder brother who was growing up with my paternal aunty and uncle who will later play a crucial role in making worldly fit but a emotional misfit in society.
I still remeber from my early years that she would get up in the morning, go to toilet, take bath, cook, give me bath, have lunch, have some sleep, gossip with her friends in the afternoon, listen to the radio in the evening, either gossip or teach me and then take me to sleep.
There will be variation when I had school since she would drop in and pick me up later.
I used to live wit my mother and grandma whole week. Mygrandma was a much developed person for the era she came from. She was well aware of the world and used to adore Indira Gandhi. She had lived thrrough the emergency but didnt have any thing negetive to talk about her, rather she thought that Indiara Gandhi was courangeous amongst men in politics and she was much misunderstood and full of good intentions for India. She was strong willed and would throw away the newpaper in the face of the delivery boy if it reached her bit late. she pampered me rotten and many a evening in those early years of my life, I would go to sleep beside her and would be lifted and taken to my bed by my mother later.
To be continued....
