Diwali In Manila

We have a had a prolonged buildup for Diwali in Manila. Ironical, since there is no big Puja is performed in the community sense here.

We have a several parties in Intercontinetal and Salcedo Village. We had couple of private get togteher yesterday and came back very net at night.

We did lighup our place and for the first time, Shenna was all very enthusiatic to light the candles, I was bit scared but he managed well.

We gambled a bit and between Dona and myself, we lost some Peso! Its afterall the part of tradition of norther India, not the place from where we come but we enjoyed it.

Its not anymore surprising that people around the world knows about Diwali and Indian dress since Dona got couple of compliment from a european in the lift who said, wow, beautiful sari'!

It in essense reaffirm the fact that Indians have spread to all parts of the world and someday, long into the future, possibly we will still have a global village with one currency and a very busy festival calender!

Haloween Party, Manila

Indians in India are not at all into Heloween party.

The story is different when Indians are in Manila.

Shenna was choosen for first prize in the Haloween party last year and this year he was under pressure to repeat it.

He did costume shopping with his mama, both excel in these area.

He did come forst in the Haloween party this year too. The guy in red dress is he! We had some of his friends over and it was lot of fun for them as well.

Tests!

Shrihaan and Muskan are both in grade one now and goes to school with Ishan in the bus. Ishan is in grade three in their school. Ishan one day told them that he can do everthing that is done in Komon (a private educations Institute). Hence, they decided to test him and cam up with the plan to get a worksheet (well, they knew they cann ask for it!) from Komon and ask Ishan to solve.

So, I told, ' but Shirhaan, you dont know divisions etc, how will you know if he asnwers correctly or not?'

Shrihaan: We will ask the bus mommy to check!

Both Dons and I had a good laugh over it.

I told Dons, ' Didi you tell Ishan's mom?'

Don: No, if I tell she will prepare Ishan!

Last we know is that it hasnt been executed yet. We cannt wait any more to know the outcome!
