Reached Manila, Phhillipines

I knew we were to move to Manila in May but it got delayed for various reasons and I stoped talking about it and resolved to write only when we reach Manila with Prinx and Shenna.

I write now as we have reached Manila at 5pm yesterday. We tarvelled in Malyasian airlines via Kulalalumpur. The journey was for 15 hours and Shenna harldly eat. He was not well previous two days and our packings compleltely undid his regular life and he suffered.We are staying at the beautiful Oakwood premier hotel. The view from the hotel. It is very nice in the evening with neo lights all over in huge highrises and from the slow moving lines of cars.

I have come to Manila twice before and so its kind of known to me. To Prinx, the first impression is that people are very nice and otherwise its just like Mumbai from where we come!
It confirmed my first impression too when I came here for the first time in May 2003.

Shenna, all of four, wanted to stay back in Mumbai alone and he asked us to come to Mumbai without him. Since the servised apartment is nice to his liking and he has got Disney channel and saw Mr. Bean and also found Mc Donnalds are there, he told me once that I should come to Manila more often. While coming from Mumbai, he want to go back to our home in Mumbai and so we told them that we were coming to our home in Manila. Being four year old, not being very articulate with his feelings, I woonder what emotional turmoil he is going through now that we will stay in Manila for 2-3 years atleast.

All he knows and bit apprehensive is about going to 'white' teachers. His grandma has told him that now at ISM, he will have 'white' teachers who speaks only english and he is somewhat concerned!

We have started another phase of our life as expat in another country and we are all eager to discover new things and soon settle into the normal rhythme of our regular life.
