The parent teacher meeting on 7th Dec was quite satisfying and interesting. Last year Shennu had got 4Es but this time he got about 14 which is 25% of the total scores. We found the things where he need to concentrate according to his teacher are exactly the same ones which we have been trying to make him improve, so came largely as no surprise. What was surprising was that when we mentioned to Mr. Hockey that he need to write better, he defended him saying that ' actually, his writing is technically correct, look at this', and showed us one of his writing. We said later that indeed he seemed to have made lot of progress on writing in this grade from he was at the end of yr 3.
And we felt so proud that he got his pen licence yesterday, he was infact given first. Apart from him, only three other girls in his class got it. We didnt expect for him to get it so early and wer felt like now he is getting more and more confident to achieve things that matters.
He is also learing decimals in Kumon and his teacher there said that he is very quick to pick up things and understands concept, where he needs to focus is doing things properly all the time.
2010 coming to an end and we are happy for it. It has been a tumultous year for me personally which had singed some recesses of my heart permanently. It continue to be huge challenge to come back to the semblance of normacy.
But for what happened in my personal life, it was a satisfying year otherwise.
