Fidelity is not impossible

We give huge premium on the concept of chastity and fidelity. We like to believe that the committment made in holy matrimony is for life and it can make or break a marriage. It is certainly right and not over rated. We grow up learning that committment and integrity is for life and must be given and aceept. Having working for couple of decade, travelling widely, having friends in different starta and stages of life and after much pondering, I have come to belive there are two truths so far integrity and committment is concerned 1. These are nothing but lack of courage or opportunity 2. Everybody has a price Human beings are not designed for monogamy and we also need varieties and different experiences in our lives. By and large, guys are more prone to stray and will rarely let go of an opprtunity to have a fling on the side. But guys pay a lot of premium on the looks of the girls and women. If the girls and women average looking, dress relatively conventionally and not in good shape, very likely she can easily maintain her chastity and remain committed. There are temptetions galore and our socieites and way we live of lives are amneable for anyone to stray. Take the case of Aishu. She was 27, reasoanbly good looking. She was married. Her husband would be away whole week and she would meet him in the weekend. Here comes a new boss freshly returned from aboad. He was 17 years older than her. They work closely, share the frsutrations of the office. They start flirting, a look here a lok there. Stolen glimpses. Thid goes on for few weeks. The boss wants lift from here one day and sh gives. Boss gets dropped and then then he send a nice message ripe with possibilities. She doesnt respond, well for sometimes. She resp0onds after couple of hours. A evening of wine and olive happened soon and that leads to rest of the full blown affair. Or again hear the case of Dia. She was 40 year old. She dresses moderately. She is funny, conventional, humorous and great in work. She is very family oriented and happily married with a 14year old kid. She was very good looking, Here comes the new boss who was 10 year older than her. A great working relation happens. For two years nothing happens but some feeling get developed. The boss makes the subtle moves. She understands and twarts. They move apart for a month, only to come back together and starts an full blown affair. In both these cases, the affair happened situationally. Working closely togehter, being together for the whole day brings people together. So if you wish to have no worries in your marriage, marry an average looking, not very interesting one. Else, be prepared that your partner may stray. Fidelity is not impossible but difficult in the life we lead today.
